The demon came to us in the final months of WWII. He was found as a baby by the United States Army and they raised him in secrecy. Hellboy isn’t the only secret held by the U.S. government. As an adult, the demon joined the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). By his side is the pyrokinetic Liz Sherman, and the aquatic man Abe Sapien. Together they protect civilization from the occult, paranormal and supernatural.
Now the BPRD must face an unstoppable army of 4900 mechanical soldiers

Well, it looks like making a 300 follow up is too irresistible for Frank Miller and Zack Snyder. Miller is writing a new graphic novel that is either a prequel or spin-off of 300. Miller will also write a screen adaption and Snyder will likely direct the film.

Legendary Pictures has confirmed it is developing a “300″ follow-up for Warner Bros. that Frank Miller is writing and Zack Snyder is intended to direct.

Miller is writing the graphic novel the project will be based upon, although at this point it’s not clear whether it will be a prequel or spinoff. Most of the characters, including Gerard Butler’s King Leonidas, died in the original, making a follow-up tricky.

Snyder won’t officially commit until after he sees Miller’s take, but he’s definitely interested, and the prospect of his involvement already has fanboys in a tizzy.

www.variety.com

Planning a screen adaption of a comic before it is even finished seems to be a growing trend. Billy Smoke from Oni Press is a comic that will see publication next year. Already Billy Smoke is headed for the big screen and Matthew Fox is in negations to star.

Matthew Fox is in negotiations to star in Warner Bros.’ “Billy Smoke,” based on the Oni Press comic about a hit man seeking redemption.

Project’s produced by Basil Iwanyk at Thunder Road and Eric Gitter at Closed on Mondays Entertainment. Oni’s Peter Sherwin will exec produce.

Story centers on an elite hit man who’s nearly killed during a botched job and realizes that his only way to find redemption is to rid the world of all assassins.

The comicbook series, written by B. Clay Moore and illustrated by Eric Kim, will be published by Oni Press next year. Moore recently wrote the comic “Leading Man,” set up at Universal.

With Edgar Wright writing and directing Marvel’s Ant-Man most people figured it would be a comedy. His hilarious films like “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz” had fanboys imagining the same treatment for the tiny Avenger. However Wright says he didn’t script a comedy, but that doesn’t mean Ant-Man will have no laughs.

I wrote [Ant-Man] for Marvel and I’m in the process of doing a second draft. I had a lot of fun writing that script, I wrote it with this guy Joe Cornish, who is a really funny UK writer. It’s not really an out-and-out comedy. I think some people assume that it must be a spoof, but it’s not really. I guess it’s as funny as something like Iron Man is, it’s on that level of entertainment, really. It’s a big, high concept, special effects comic book adaptation, and very character-led and we found a way of… I guess in a similar way to Iron Man, the thing that worked with that and hopefully will with this is that it’s a different way of seeing a superhero origin, because you’ve seen so many of them and we really tried to figure out a fresh take on that story. So it’s definitely a Marvel film but it’s got a little twist on it in terms of the way that it plays out.

Not long ago we got to see set photos of a strange vehicle that seemed like it could be the popular female Autobot, Arcee. Now The Unofficial Transformers 2 Movie Blog is showing off the above bike as the Arcee Motorcycle.

The problem with Arcee is quite simply - how do you create a believable Transformer that fits into the space of a fully functioning motorcycle. The answer is to get 6 custom built bikes from RetroSBK, after Dreamworks contacted owner Will Kenefick, so Ventura County Star report.

Kenefick has since worked ridiculous man hours to get these six bikes (the turnaround for one usually being 6 months), ready in time for filming. The 3 “hero” bikes and 3 “stunt” bikes were ready in time and some were in action at the start of June in Pennsylvania - Kenefick was on hand to fix and maintain the vehicles, sometimes getting only 2 hours of sleep. My guess is that the bikes we have seen were the 3 stunt bikes (this fits in with the call sheet), the 3 hero bikes being used for close up non-action shots, which is probably where most of the paint has gone!

He estimates that 1273 hours were put in and that each bike cost $40,000, with $10,000 on paint alone (which added a further 1036 hours of work). Because the bikes are small it is expected that they will be showcased at the movie’s première.

Around the time when we first heard that Samuel L. Jackson was going to be in the Iron Man movie, another rumor was going around that Hillary Swank was in the movie too. The cameo was even confirmed by Avi Arad. Now Arad says he was trying to protect the secret of real cameos by running with the false rumor.

“She’s not there. She was never supposed to be. It got into the internet and, you know, especially with MTV. These rumors are starting,” Avi Arad said, laughing mightily. “There were cameos that WERE real, and we were trying to move [the media] away from the real.”

mtv.com

This combined with Arad’s Gray Hulk rumor should really open people’s eye to questioning anything the man says. The whole net rumor probably began from people on the set who thought they really did see Swank when it was really Stacy Stas.
