Heroes Ushering in a New Generation of Star Trek Fans

Just about every actor/actress and production has some kind of connection to Star Trek. You could defiantly play “Six Degrees of Separation” with Star Trek instead of Kevin Bacon. This is obvious to all the Trekkies out there but the Trekkie seems to be a dieing breed.
There hasn’t been a Star Trek movie since 2002 and hasn’t been a TV show since 2005. Since “The Next Generation” first aired, there has been Trek on TV for 18 years straight.
For sci-fi fans it feels strange to not have a Star Trek on TV. Perhaps this is just a reflection of the seemingly hopeless world we live in. At any rate, there is no vehicle to create new Star Trek fans. This seems to be changing thanks to Heroes.
