Well, it looks like making a 300 follow up is too irresistible for Frank Miller and Zack Snyder. Miller is writing a new graphic novel that is either a prequel or spin-off of 300. Miller will also write a screen adaption and Snyder will likely direct the film.

2007 was a big year for films based on comic books. Just to sheer quantity of movies this year was enough to make fanboys giggle. ‘07 definitely made up for the let down year of 2006. That year we saw the third X-Men movie and Superman Returns. Both movies were over hyped and hugely disappointing.

300 has set a new March record! The movie based of Frank Miller’s graphic novel has an estimated opening of $70 million from 3,103 locations.
Also worth noting is that 300 is Warners’ third-highest debut ever for an R-rated movie, just below The Matrix Reloaded and The Passion of The Christ.
