Spider-Man 3

The movie event of the summer? HA! Try the movie event of the YEAR!
The New Goblin, Sandman, and Venom. How can Spidey deal with all these bad guys?
I’ll tell you this, in the comics Venom became such a problem for Spider-Man that he had to fake his death just so Venom would leave him alone.

Remember you can see all the latest news and information right here in The Braxcave.

Peter Parker has finally managed to piece together the once-broken parts of his life, maintaining a balance between his relationship with Mary-Jane and his responsibility as Spider-Man. But more challenges arise for our young hero. Peter’s old friend Harry Obsourne has set out for revenge against Peter; taking up the mantle of his late father’s persona as The New Goblin, and Peter must also capture Uncle Ben’s real killer, Flint Marko, who has been transformed into his toughest foe yet, the Sandman. All hope seems lost when suddenly Peter’s suit turns jet-black and greatly amplifies his powers. But it also begins to greatly amplify the much darker qualities of Peter’s personality that he begins to lose himself to. Peter has to reach deep inside himself to free the compassionate hero he used to be if he is to ever conquer the darkness within and face not only his greatest enemies, but also…himself. www.imdb.com

Grindhouse

Grindhouse

This movie looks like so much fun. Set aside 3 hours this weekend and go check out this double feature.

Trailer

An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In “Death Proof,” a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In “Planet Terror,” a small-town sheriffs’ department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called “sickos.” A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army. The two films will be fused together by fake movie trailers www.imdb.com

This is a great movie for the grown up[ 80’s child to take their own children to. From the looks of the promo clips out there this one has plenty of action and has a creative look at what the Turtles would do if they were not together as a team.

After the defeat of their old arch nemesis, The Shredder, the Turtles have grown apart as a family. Struggling to keep them together, their sensei, Master Splinter, becomes worried when strange things begin to brew in New York City. Tech-industrialist Max Winters goes mad after he was wrongfully fired, and begins amassing an army of ancient monsters. Realizing his plan is succeeding, he is no longer satisfied with vengeance against his ex-employer but now has thirst for world domination. www.imdb.com

In 480 BC, the Persian king Xerxes sends his massive army to conquer Greece. The Greek city of Sparta houses its finest warriors, and 300 of these soldiers are chosen to meet the Persians at Thermopylae, engaging the soldiers in a narrow canyon where they cannot take full advantage of their numbers. The battle is a suicide mission, meant to buy time for the rest of the Greek forces to prepare for the invasion. However, that doesn’t stop the Spartans from throwing their hearts into the fray, determined to take as many Persians as possible with them. www.imdb.com

Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider Movie

This Valentines Weekend, take your girl to Ghost Rider… and be prepared to sleep in the dog house.
I’m not sure whose idea it was to have a movie about a flaming skull on a motorcycle open on Valentines week end. I’m sure this is going to hurt opening weekend sales for Ghost Rider.

In order to save his dying father, young stunt cyclist Johnny Blaze sells his soul to Mephistopheles and sadly parts from the pure-hearted Roxanne Simpson, the love of his life. Years later, Johnny’s path crosses again with Roxanne, now a reporter, and also with Mephistopheles, who offers to release Johnny’s soul if Johnny becomes the fabled, fiery Ghost Rider, a supernatural agent of vengeance and justice. Mephistopheles charges Johnny with defeating the despicable Blackheart, Mephistopheles’s nemesis and son, who plans to displace his father and create a new hell even more terrible than the old one. www.imdb.com

LOST: Not in Portland

Lost

After 12 weeks it is finally back!
A big questions is if the 12 week hiatus made fans anticipate this episode or just give up on Lost altogether. I get the feeling that (former) fans frustrated with the shows plot will just not bother with this episode. Everyone else be prepared for some big revelations as this show flashes back to Juliet’s history and maybe we will lean why Ben didn’t just leave the island to see a surgeon

On the operating table, Ben’s life is in Jack’s hands, but the doc’s gambit to free Kate and Sawyer hits a geographical snag. Still, the runaways elude Danny and the other guards, with the help of unlikely allies. Flashbacks follow Juliet’s medical career, which has a very personal component to it. www.tvguide.com
