X-Men Origins: Wolverine Wraps

Sunday, May 25th, 2008 @ 11:51 am

x-men wolverine movie

It’s a wrap for the solo Wolverine film and it now goes into post production. It is almost difficult to even call the movie a solo Wolverine film as there are so many other of Marvel’s mutants in the film. Other characters to appear are Sabretooth, Deadpool, Gambit, Maverick, Wraith, Blackwing, and there is even a rumor of Cyclops appearing.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige told IESB that X-Men Origins: Wolverine has just wrapped principal photography in Australia and that there are only a couple of weeks left for some pick up shots second unit will be taking care of.

Several sources close to the production have described X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a gritty 70’s type of action film.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is facing a few criticisms on the net. One being Wolverine’s appearance. Promotional photos showing him without his trademark hair style. Another thing some fans are moaning about is having will.i.am in the film over his being a “rapper” not an actor. Having Gambit in the film is making some fans scratch their heads. As is Dominic Monaghan playing the character formerly known as Beak. Fans seem to be divided over if Liev Schreiber playing Sabretooth was a good choice. There is plenty more to pick at too.

But there are plenty of good things about the film. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Danny Huston as Stryker. Hugh Jackman is absolutely huge as Wolverine this time around becoming 220 pounds of muscle.

I think right now fans are waiting to see some more from the movie before deciding to endorse it or not. After X3 people are worried if the next X-Men installment will be a disappointment.
