Now that we’ve past the first movie it will be easier to give the Transformers more screen time than the humans. The second movie would include all of the surviving Autobots from the first movie and introduce more Transformers that may have been “too much” for viewers of the first movie.

Here is a list of Transformers I want to see in the next big movie. I tried to go about this “fantasy casting” logically, keeping in mind things like screentime and continuity.

Soundwave

Soundwave was one of the most popular Decepticons from the 80’s. He could Transform into a cassette player and had several skills like detecting and jamming radio signals. What made Soundwave really great was that he carried an army in his chest. Smaller Decepticons in the form of cassettes could eject from Soundwave’s chest making him one of the most deadliest Decpticons.
Soundwave could be brought to Earth by being called on by Starscream, who we saw blasting away from Earth at the end of the Transformers movie. The threat of Soundwave alone would be a big enough threat to gather all the Autobots together again.
Before the Autobots defeat Soundwave he could send a signal into space calling for more Decepticons to come to Earth.
Soundwave shouldn’t be a cassette player as he was in the 80’s. It would work best for him to appear only in Cybertron-form.

Dinobots

Following the above plot, the Autobots of Earth grow concerned of the Decepticon invasion and realize they are going to need help.
In the 80’s cartoon it was Ratchet and WheelJack who created the Dinobots. In the movie Ratchet with the help of Sector 7 can create giant robotic dinosaurs and then use the shard of the Allspark which Optimus Prime possesses to bring them to life.

The Dinobots just being born, can be slow-minded as they were in the cartoon. It should be shown that their mind set at this time is to follow who they believe is the most powerful. Grimlock being the strongest takes the lead of the Dinobots and believes Optimus Prime to be too weak and leaves the Autobots. Even though they wont follow Prime, they still have the basic Autobot trait of protecting the innocent.

Megatron

Yeah, he dies in the first movie, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be brought back. Some greedy humans can pull his body from the ocean to make him into a tool of war. But no one orders Megatron. As soon as his body is repaired he kills the insignificant humans. Since this would be his re-birth, it would be a good opportunity to turn him into a more familiar version of Megatron. His new design can feature a helmet and a giant cannon attached to his arm.
Megatron can trick the Dinobots into joining the Decepticons.

Constructicons

Soundwave’s call for back up summons six Decepticons to Earth. They crash into a construction site and take the forms of the surrounding vehicles. Immediately the Decepticons drive away to where they believe Soundwave sent his signal.

Note: The first movie featured Bonecusher who was a Constructicon in the 80’s. In the movie he was killed by Optimus Prime, but we need not go into any of that for the second film.

Devistator

Devistator is a giant Decepticon that is created by combining the Constructicons. Once the Constructicons arrive to the location of Soundwave’s signal they encounter the Autobots. It is a hopeless battle but the Autobots fight bravely and manage to stand their ground. Meanwhile the Dinobots see how strong Optimus Prime really is and decide to join the Autobots in battle, destroying Devistator.

So where does this plot end? I’m not going to write the whole movie here. I’m just trying to logically introduce new characters in to the sequel.
Maybe Megatron can kill Prime leaving a cliffhanger for a third film. Maybe Megatron can cowardly flee after Devistators defeat. However it ends it should lead us into a third movie where we can dive into the Transformers universe even further, maybe even visit Cybertron.
