NBC to Bring Back Knight Rider, Transformers Style

Thursday, September 27th, 2007 @ 6:22 am

NBC has recruited Doug Liman to produce a Transformers-inspired reinvionment of Knight Rider.
They are working on a two hour Pilot and are planning on airing it as a TV movie. If the movie is successful we could be seeing the ongoing TV series as earl as this fall.

The new Knight Rider will feature good cars like Kitt and bad cars (Karr?) that shape-shift. Dave Andron is writing the pilot and is also the supervising producer alongside exec producers Liman and Dave Bartis.

I really don’t want to be one of the fans that hate this idea from the beginning, BUT… I mean the original show wasn’t the deepest thing in the word, but I loved it as a kid. I even downloaded the KARR episodes of itunes. The whole “shape-shifting” thing is a little odd. I’ll have to stand by the old “wait and see” technique.

Eh, too many remade TV shows. Like Flash Gordon and Bionic Woman. Yeesh… What next, the 3 Stooges?

I thought you liked Flash Gordon

Yes I do. I just think they should stop remaking classic TV shows that’s all. But Flash Gordon just came to mind when I was posting that.
