Avi Arad Says he’s producing Venom!?

In an interview with DarkHorizons.com Avi Arad has said that he is making the Venom movie. The question mark in the title comes from the fact that there has not been any announcement that a Venom film has been greenlit.
In the interview Arad pretty much out of nowhere drops the news that he is working on Venom…and it’s awesome…?
Question: And the other thing of course is you haven’t really left Marvel behind completely right? I mean you’re still personally involved in Hulk and Iron Man …
Arad: ..and Spiderman. And I’m making Venom.

Question: Have you had discussions already about a Spiderman 4?
Arad: We are just talking about it with Sony.
Question: Do you think it’s going to happen with the same people?
Arad: As I said, we are just talking.
Question: And how is Venom coming along?
Arad: Awesome. Awesome.
Question: When do you start, when do you announce who and cast and …
Arad: Ah, soon. Soon. You know ….
Avi Arad has been saying the strangest things this year. I really don’t know what to think anymore.

If it happens, it happens. I just don’t know how they are going to bring Venom back since basically Eddie died in Spider-Man 3. Unless they bring in Mac Gargan. Eh, I am not really looking forward to this film, if it happens.

Honestly I didn’t like Venom in SM3 enough to be interested in a Venom movie.
