There is more to 2008’s comic movies than Iron Man and The Dark Knight. One comic movie hasn’t had very much hype, “Wanted.” The Braxcave has been pretty guilty of not covering this comic movie, but that is about to change.

Here is everything you need to know about Wanted. From the book’s history to who will be in the movie.

The Plot

Wanted is a six issue mini-series written by Mark Millar with art by J. G. Jones and is published by Top Cow. This is not a superhero comic, rather you could say it is a super-villain book. It has even been dubbed the “Watchmen” for super villains.

The book is for mature readers and is extremely violent. Many of the characters are based on DC characters.

In Wanted all the all the super-villains of the world decide to band together and wipe out all the Super Heroes. That all took place in 1986 and in current times super-villains run the world and superheroes are only remembered as fiction.

The main character is Wesley Gibson. He discovers that his recently-assassinated father was a super-criminal called The Killer, and that he has inherited his perfect aim and uncanny skill with any weapon much like Marvel’s Bullseye.

Gibson is offered the opportunity to seek revenge for the killing of his father by joining his father’s partner, Sloan. Gibson is mentored by Sloan’s second in command, Fox.
