Comic Movie News from All Over

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007 @ 10:16 am

The wires have been buzzing this morning with all kinds of comic movie news that I’m sure Umbrax would keep you in the loop on.

James Cromwell talking about Spider-Man 4:

But never fear comic fans, the Stacy family will have a much bigger role to play in future installments, veteran actor James Cromwell told MTV News. Asked if his character, Captain George Stacy, meets the same grisly end in “Spider-Man 3″ that he does in the comics, Cromwell playfully replied, “They haven’t shot that [scene] yet. That’s the next one.” Source: MTV

Take the jump and read more about Iron Man, Punisher II, and the Sub-Mariner?

UFC champ Chuck Liddell on Punisher II:

He envisions a different future, a shinier one. “I’m interested in Hollywood,” he says. “I’m trying to do Punisher II. I may get to play the villain’s crazy brother. I’ll probably start acting classes.” Source: ESPN

Stan Lee in Iron Man cameo:

That’s the best of all! I’m with three blondes and Tony Stark mistakes me for Hugh Hefner. I won’t tell you the rest, but it’s very funny. Source: IGN

Robert Downey Jr. chats about Iron Man:

I went after it. I hunted it down. I am a fan of the comic book. It’s mythology. Stan Lee created the character on a dare to see if he could make a wealthy, establishment, weapons manufacturing, hard drinking, womanising p**** into someone who is likeable and a hero. And I definitely have had to overcome certain perceptions. But I know underneath it, my heart is in the right place. And that’s kind of what the movie is about. Source: Time Out

Some scooper claims David Boreanaz might be up for Sub-Mariner:

Just got home from my acting class, and a classmate tells me she just did a guest turn on TVs “Bones”. Don’t know that there’s any truth to this or not, but she’s saying that David Boreanaz from the show may be up for - or has auditioned - for the “Sub Mariner” movie…he said he had… P.S though my friend called it the “Namor” movie. I assume its the same thing we’re talking about. Source: Superhero Hype
