Watchmen Movie in Pre-Production!

Variety is reporting that Filmmaker Zack Snyder (300) is in pre-production on “Watchmen,” based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
Snyder, who made his feature directorial debut with horror remake “Dawn of the Dead,” is in pre-production on “Watchmen,” based on Alan Moore’s DC Comics comicbook, for Warners.

A film adaptation of Watchmen has been attempted several times, but none of them ever reaching casting phase. It has jumped from studio to studio, and is now with Warner Brothers. Back on June 23, 2006 it was confirmed by Warner Bros. that Zack Snyder would direct the adaptation of Watchmen.
Alan Moore is opposed the film adaptation as he has for every other movie based on his work. When 20th Century Fox had the licence to do a Watchmen movie they asked Moore to write the screen play buy he declined.

300 looks awesome,but Its hard to imagine them pulling off Watchmen successfully.

I really doubt a good Watchmen movie could be made unless it was given the “Lord of the Rings” treatment.

A -good- version of Watchmen would be fantastic, but I dont have high hopes after the treatment of LXG and V for Vendetta..

I havent read V for Vendetta,but I enjoyed the film plenty.
