DVD

Bleach: The Substitute, Vol. 2

Bleach

Over Christmas I had a gift certificate for the mall and decided to pick up some DVDs with it. I took a chance and picked up an anime I’ve heard good things about, Bleach vol. 1. By taking a chance, I mean that I don’t normally buy anime. I’m glad I did pick it up. I enjoyed the four episodes very much and have been looking forward to the second disk ever since.

High school student Kurosaki Ichigo is unlike any ordinary kid. Why? Because he can see ghosts. Ever since a young age, he’s been able to see spirits from the afterlife. Ichigo’s life completely changes one day when he and his two sisters are attacked by an evil, hungry and tormented spirit known as a Hollow. Right in the nick of time, Ichigo and his siblings are aided by a Shinigami (Death God) named Kuchiki Rukia, whose responsibility it is to send good spirits (Pluses) to the afterlife known as Soul Society, and to purify Hollows and send them up to Soul Society. But during the fight against the Hollow, Rukia is injured and must transfer her powers to Ichigo. With this newly acquired power, so begins Kurosaki Ichigo’s training and duty as a Shinigami to maintain the balance between the world of the living and the world of the dead… www.imdb.com

Bleach is a great anime, theres one arc ,that just recently ended, that drags the series down some but it was a “filler” arc to let the manga its based on make more issues.

but youve got a long way to go before you et to that.

  2. Umbrax Says:

Yeah, they are past episode 100 in Japan aren’t they?
That is insane that the manga is so popular that the anime has to make fillers. My wife is reading the first volume of the manga right now.

Yeah I believe the series is up to episode 112,i think thats the last fansub I saw out.I might check out the manga,I never read manga but the art style of this one seems really cool, especially some of the charater designs,it translated well to the anime.
