Doctor Who: The Complete First and Second Series

Doctor Who: The Complete Second Series is also available on its own in case you already have the first set. Either way, fans need to have both these sets in their DVD collection.
Rose Tyler, a young shop assistant in a London department store, lives a humdrum and profoundly average life - until the night the shop dummies where she works wake up and try to kill her. Her life is saved by a strange man who only calls himself The Doctor, and intrigued by him, she finds herself thrown headlong into a hectic battle to stop an alien presence from invading Earth and annihilating the human race. She comes to learn that her new friend is even stranger than she thought - in fact, the Doctor’s an alien adventurer called a ‘Time Lord’, seemingly the last of his race, who travels through time and space in his TARDIS battling evil where he finds it. And if she travels with him, she’ll find herself witnessing the heat-death of the Earth five billion years in the future, meeting Charles Dickens in the past, and encountering lifeforms and invaders stranger than she’d ever thought possible. Only one thing is certain - it’ll be the ride of a lifetime…. www.imdb.com

Comics
Exiles #90

I always felt Chris Claremont should be on this book and now it is happening. Exiles is what the original Excalibur series was. Early Excalibur stories had an extra long run of what was called “The Cross-time Caper.” The story arc ran from Excalibur 12 all the way to issue 24. The story took the Excalibur team across several alternate realities. Claremont wrote that series and is a perfect fit for the dimensional jumping Exiles.
A new era for EXILES begins here! Legend Chris Claremont (UNCANNY X-MEN) starts a run that will have Exiles fans talking for years to come. And he’s not the only one joining up, as X-Woman PSYLOCKE joins the team as well. What is she doing there? How will the team deal with her arrival? And what new villains plan on destroying every world in existence?! www.marvel.com
Available Wednesday the 17th.

Clerks II

Never say never again.
Kevin Smith said that Jay and Silent Bob would never be in a movie again, but here we are. Smith told Jason Mewes that if he stayed off the drugs then he would be able to play the character of “Jay” one more time. I guess that is a worthwhile cause. If you are a Kevin Smith fan you’ll like this film. Chances are though most people will leave this movie feeling disgusted.
A calamity at Dante and Randall’s shops sends them looking for new horizons - but they ultimately settle at Mooby’s, a fictional fast-food restaurant. Free from his dead-end job (and lodged in a new one), Dante begins to break free of his rut, planning to move away with his clingy fiancé. Dante is ready to leave the horrors of minimum-wage New Jersey behind, but Randal - always the more hostile of the two - starts to become overwhelmed by his own rancor. www.imdb.com

Chris Claremont is taking over writing duties starting with this issue. Claremont wrote Uncanny X-Men for 16 years. He’s won the Comics Buyer’s Guide Fan Award for “Favorite Writer” in 1983, 1984, 1988, 1989, and 1990.
I’m looking forward to the book.
