A Scanner Darkly

This is a wild movie that every conspiracy theorist must see. Based on Philip K. Dick’s novel of the same name, A Scanner Darkly is visually fantastic with characters that are fun to watch. This movie is a lot of things but above all else it will mess with your head.
The L.A. of a not-too-distant future suffers a surge of drug abuse involving a new ultra-addictive and eventually brain-damaging substance simply named “D”. Bob Arctor is an undercover narc leading a double life, dutifully reporting to his superiors while effectively having abandoned whatever normal existence he had for a “D” user/dealer career. But this schizophrenic situation and the drug-induced memory and concentration lapses put Bob under mounting stress.. www.imdb.com

ROCKY BALBOA

When word of “Rocky 6” first hit people scoffed and giggled. But now with critical acclaim the buzz is that this movie will be as good as the first, maybe better.
‘Rocky Balboa’ examines one of America’s greatest icons at a vulnerable period in his life–middle age. A former heavyweight boxing champion, known and renown throughout the world for going the distance, Rocky finds a new venture: giving back to his community. This is where he, once more, finds himself at the opposing side of opportunity, not unlike the one he has seen decades ago. Heavyweight champ Mason Dixon and his representation offer Rocky a shot for the title. For Balboa, it’ll be one last hurrah he’ll never forget…..but with his glory days far behind him can he withstand the inevitabilities of what’s to come? A look at going full circle and wanting more, when life turns out how you least expect it and then some. www.imdb.com

Watched Scanner Darkly recently.Cool movie, very true to the book, good performances all around,I think I would have liked it better if it was live action though, there was very little that was actually enhanced by the movie’s animated look. There wasnt a hell of alot of freaky hallucination stuff for example, nor super advanced hi tech stuff.I think the actors peromances would have made it a strong live action movie.
Odd FF matchup power-wise,hard to imagine how theyll play off of one anothers powers, you know?.But i was wondering where they were going with that Storm storyline,it looked like a dead end.But I guess it makes sense that theyre replacing a married couple with the new power couple on the block. Also,Im guessing it was a consious decision to use a black couple.I say that because in the comic they made a big deal about them being THE black power couple,Oprah was at their wedding & it was being covered by BET.
Been reading Wolverine by Claremont & Miller, and Im really looking forward to the Rocky movie after seeing the trailers.Plus Im a boxing fan and there hasnt been a great boxing movie in a while.
I always look forward to your braxpix.
