In stores 11/07/06 is the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of Transformers: The Movie.
If you were an 80’s child you would undoubtedly remember this movie well.
The Transformers had already been a hit TV show for two seasons and had a very successful toyline. Every boy was obsessed with these alien robots. Then they dropped the big one on us, Transformers: The Movie.

This movie changed everything for the 80’s child.
We were used to waking up early Saturday morning to watch our favorite heroes come within inches of defeat and then by the end of the show all would be well and things would return to normal as if nothing had happened.
It is my opinion that the Transformers movie aged us.
Instead of watching cartoon in your pajamas, you left the house to a dark theater. A giant screen and an equally giant sound system assaulted us with images of planet sized robots and 80’s rock ‘n roll.
Most of all… we seen out heroes die. Every 80’s child has their memory burned with the death of Optimus Prime.

The new DVD is a two disk set including both full screen and wide screen. It has been remastered and color-corrected and is worth buying for any generation of Transformer fan, that is… if you can handle the rock ‘n roll 80’s.

Here is a preview for the 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD.
