Fantastic Four Animated

Last Saturday the new Fantastic Four Cartoon hit the Cartoon Network. Most fans are liking the show but some are griping about the “Japanese” animation style.

What I really liked about the show was that it didn’t bother with the FF’s origin, it just dove right into the fun. All the characters are true to their comic book counterparts, even Susan Storm is shown to be a powerful member of the FF.

Here is the opening introduction for the show.

The show seems to have it’s own continuity and may be using the same origin as the movie. The comics had always had these fantastic things happening in them and it looks like the cartoon will have much of the same.
Dr. Doom looks pretty cool and I can’t wait to see him in the show.

The one thing I hate about superhero cartoons (especially those focussed on such well known heroes as the FF) is that they spend a whole arc, sometimes series, blathering on about how they got powers, and the impact on their lives.
In the case of the well known ones, we all already know how it happened and all we want to see is some classic fantastic (or amazing or super or whatever) action

That’s way too Japanese for my liking. What happened to the good ‘ol days where we had American animation that kinda looked like crap but was still so very very awesome?
