I haven’t read a Superman book in about ten years, around the time that “Death of Superman” was new on the shelves. I was drawn to this book by the creative team Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. I really enjoyed their run on “New X-Men” and I’m really loving their take on Superman,

All Star Superman

In 2005 DC launched their “All Star” imprint. The idea here is that DC takes the best writers and artists in the business and gives them the freedom to create the best story they can using DC’s popular characters with out any continuity restrictions.
The first All Star title was Batman from Frank Miller and Jim Lee and All Star Wonder Woman is expected around late 2006 from Adam Hughes and Geoff Johns..

In All Star Superman, Superman is bombarded by a massive amount of solar radiation that supercharges him. The supercharge is also causing him to die. The story takes a look at what Superman would do with the knowledge that he will be dead soon.

The book is Bimonthly and a preview of issue #4 has shown up at ComicBookResources.com. All Star Superman #4 hits stores on June 21.
